Most modern routers broadcast both a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz Wi-Fi network at the same time, and streaming devices can usually connect to either — but the two bands behave quite differently.
Reaches farther through walls, but is more crowded — shared with many household devices — and generally offers lower top speeds.
Faster and less congested, but with a shorter range and weaker performance through walls and floors.
If your streaming device is close to the router, 5GHz is usually the better choice. If it's farther away or on another floor, 2.4GHz may actually hold a more stable connection despite the lower speed.
