Fire TV remotes pack a surprising amount of functionality into a small number of buttons, and a few shortcuts can save real time once you get used to them.
Shortcuts worth trying
- Press and hold the Home button to bring up quick app switching
- Use the microphone button for voice search instead of typing with the on-screen keyboard
- Press the menu button (three lines) during playback for quick access to subtitle and audio options
Remapping the app buttons
Some Fire TV remotes include shortcut buttons that can be remapped to a different app from the remote's settings menu, which is handy if the default apps aren't ones you use.
